Toubakouta Espresso Cup

While creating the Toubakouta espresso and cappuccino collection I was inspired by the mangroves in southern Senegal. The mangrove is an ecosystem that can be found along the tropical coastlines where it maintains a vital connection between the marine and the terrestrial habitats, allowing an enormous exchange of organic material and where it shelters a multitude of living organisms. Unfortunately it’s one of nature’s most endangered ecosystems today.

During our journey in Toubakouta and the Saloum delta we embarqued in a typical local canoe to explore the vast maze of mangrove and observe the wonderful inhabitants of this incredible forest. This unique moment far away in Senegal’s wilderness has been carved in stone in our memories.
